MG COMET EV
MG has launched the Comet EV which is going to be a small-size hatchback EV. It can only Cary four passengers. It's known as MG Air in the International market. Although there are two variants available in the international market with different ranges and battery options, only one variant is launched in India. It would mostly be suitable as a secondary vehicle in cities where the traffic is just annoying, and it's hard to have a mid-sized SUV to move around.
Design
The MG COMET EV has a much of a boxy design, it may be polarizing yet it carries a futuristic design language. Let me know how you feel about the design in the comments.
Battery and Powertrain
The MG COMET EV has a 17.3 kWh battery, with which the electric motor produces a maximum power of 42 PS and a maximum torque of 110 NM.
The MG COMET EV claims to have a range of 230 KM on a single charge. It will get charged 0% to 100% in 7 hours and 0% to 80% in 5.5 hours.

Dimensions and Specifications
The MG COMET EV as stated earlier is a considerably small car just like the TATA Nano used to be, but it's smaller than the Nano too, as it is a two-door urban commuting car.

Features and Highlights
The car is compact and comes with approximately all the required safety features to be offered in this segment.
The MG COMET EV comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Although it just has 2 speakers but considering the size of the car it's okay.
It gets all the bells and whistles such as steering mounted control etc. Other than that it gets 55 + connected car features.

The MG COMET EV gets 4 colour options above which you can add a sticker option out of seven different designs
Competitors
If MG COMET EV had been launched for under 6 lakhs or so, then it may have been a much more considerable option. But currently considering the price the one and only competitor stands is the TATA Tiago EV.
Price
The MG COMET EV is launched at an introductory price of Rs 7.98 lakh Ex-Showroom.
Conclusion
It's all well and good until about the price the MG COMET EV can carry only 4 people, has absolutely no boot space. And with approximately 1 lakh rupees more, one can opt for the TATA Tiago EV which is much better in terms of cabin space, you get a practical boot space. And do note that the MG COMET EV prices are introductory which means it will increase in the near future. Considering all the points it's not much hard to decide which one to pick.
