BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR

BMW has launched two new motorcycle in India. BMW has launched BMW F 900 R and BMW F 900 XR with a 895 cc engine, which will be discussed later below. BMW Motorrad launched these machines on Thursday 21 st may 2020.
Both the motorcycle are similar yet different. The BMW F 900 XR is a sports tourer with athleticism and long distance performance to deal with miles and miles of straight and curvy roads without stopping. The motorcycle comes with a upright and relaxing sitting position along with a height adjustable visor to deflect wind. 
While on other hand the BMW F 900 R is a agile and aggressive naked / street fighter motorcycle. The motorcycle comes with an aggressive sitting posture and an aggressive headlamp which looks awesome.

Looks and Appearance of BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR.

Both the bikes come with different styling:-

The F 900 R poses dynamic roadster design with muscular front section and aggressive headlight design, graphics and the short, slim rear section. Talking about the LED headlamp which gives the motorcycle it's character, is a newly designed unit. The F 900 R comes with this newly developed LED headlight which provides enhanced low and high beam.

 The F 900 XR comes with a dynamic tourer design with muscular front section. The front consists the dual section LED headlight setup which similar to F 900 R, provides enhanced low and high beam. The motorcycle comes with aggressive headlight and graphics with short, slim rear section.

Engine Specifications

BMW F 900 R AND F 900 XR ENGINE

Both the motorcycle uses the same in - line twin cylinder 4 stroke, water cooled 895 cc engine. This engine produces a maximum power of 105 HP @ 8,500 RPM and a maximum torque of 92 Nm @ 6,500 RPM. Both the motorcycles can achieve a top speed of over 200 kilometres per hour.

You may be thinking what's Dynamic ESA? So let me explain it for you, In Dynamic ESA is an automatic suspension adjuster. The BMW F 900 XR Pro will have a sensor in the suspension which will record the movement in distance and rate of travel, and the damping is adjusted automatically according to the riding situations.

BMW F 900 R AND F 900 XR SPEEDOMETER

Both the motorcycles feature a 6.5 inch coloured TFT screen which shows much more than required information. It allows smartphone pairing for Navigation, music control and calling. It also gives an option to record, create and share routes along with ride analysis. By the TFT screen you can also choose between riding Modes which are Road which gives controlled traction and peak performance and Rain for enhanced traction on wet or slippery surfaces. 

BMW F 900 R AND F 900 XR RETROFIT

Both the bikes come with many accessories but you can also go with retrofit some awesome features such as Tyre Pressure Monitoring system, Anti theft, heated grips and Auxiliary LED lights.

As both the motorcycle uses same steel bridge frame yet both the motorcycles are different that's why the dimensions are slightly different too, which is :-

Both the motorcycle uses the same combinations of brakes which is a 320 mm of disc at front and a 265 mm disc at rear. They even use the same tyre size which happens to be 120/70 ZR 17 at front and 180/55 ZR 17 with allow wheels.

Both the motorcycles are offered with just two colours which are Racing Red which is available in both the motorcycles but while F 900 R is offered in Black, the F 900 XR is offered in white

Price

The bikes are priced quite competitive as the BMW F 900 R is priced at Rs 9,90,000 which is quite close to the Triumph Triple R and Duke 790. While the BMW F 900 XR standard is priced at Rs 10,50,000 and the BMW F 900 XR Pro is priced at Rs 11,50,000.
