Mahindra Bolero 2020 BS6


Mahindra Bolero comes under the top 25 most sold SUV's in Indian market monthly. It's basic yet many people love it in many of it's avatar such as Bolero Camper and Bolero Pickup as a goods carrier vehicle as well as the Bolero SUV as there private car. As the BS6 norms are just up ahead , Mahindra has updated the Bolero with a new BS6 engine as well as given it minor makeover in the looks department. The pictures of the new Bolero was leaked ahead of its launch as people spotted it on dealership storehouses.

Design Changes 

Exterior changes


The new Bolero gets a new revised fascia with new set of Headlamps with static bending feature as well as gets a new slightly different grill with the Mahindra logo upon it. The front also gets slightly redesigned bumper with black plastic accents around the fog lamps.


The side profile of the car remains the same with the same wheels with same wheel caps as well as the same silhouette, What's different is the decals or stickers design.


The rear also remains the same with revised tail-lamps with the same shape and size from outsize, other than that there are no changes.

Interior Changes

The interior of the car remains absolutely same, yet Mahindra claims that they have changed the seats which now provides more comfort and comes with different upholstery, but the seating arrangement remains the same.

New BS6 Engine

The new Bolero gets an all new 1.5 Litres mHAWK75 BS6 Diesel engine which produces maximum power of 75 PS @ 3600 RPM and a maximum torque of 210 Nm @ 1600 - 2200 RPM. This new engine is not just BS6 compliant , It produces more power and torque than the older BS4 engine. Below is a comparison chart :-


Safety and Features

The car gets a new audio system which supports USB, AUX and Bluetooth. It also gets a new digital cluster which is basic and provides basic information. Talking about comfort and convenience features it gets :-
  • Power Steering
  • Power Windows
  • Central Locking
  • Key-less Entry
  • Remote Fuel lid Opener
  • 12 V Charging Point
and more basic features such as AC and utility space.

The new Bolero was expected to come with passenger side Air Bags and more safety feature but unfortunately , it is launched with the basic features only such as :-
  • ABS
  • Driver Side Air Bags
  • Reverse Parking Sensors
  • Driver and Co- passenger Seat Belt Reminder
  • Engine Immobilizer.

Other Changes

The car is based on it's old frame only. so there are no changes in the dimesions which are :-
  • Length - 3995mm
  • Width - 1745mm
  • Height - 1880mm
  • Wheelbase - 2680 mm
  • Fuel Tank Capacity - 60 L


Talking about other changes the car is now offered with only 3 colour options which are Mist Silver, Lakeside Brown and Diamond White. The beige colour option is dropped.
Same as the BS4 variant it comes with Disc brakes at front and Drum at rear.

Price

The BS6 Bolero comes with different variants which are B4, B6 and B6 optional variants which earlier use to be EX, SLX, SLE and ZLX variants, Also there are change in pricing to which are as follows :-
