MG ZS EV - All Details with Price and Comparision | All Electric SUV launched In INDIA.

MG is launching its second SUV in India market. The SUV is full electrical and is named MG ZS EV. Earlier this year MG launched its first SUV MG HECTOR which is an awesome offering from this British brand. Though the HECTOR was available in Petrol ,Diesel and Hybrid (Petrol+Electric) fuel options, but the MG ZS EV is a fully electric SUV. 
Talking about electric vehicles, Currently there is just one option which is HYUNDAI KONA. But still HYUNDAI KONA is available in just 11 cities as of now. 
We will be comparing HYUNDAI KONA with MG ZS EV later in this article. But before that lets give a look at the MG ZS EV.

MG ZS EV 

MG ZS EV is based on the popular MG ZS which is sold in abroad. But currently MG is just launching the Electric variant not the real MG ZS. The car is same as the MG ZS. The front looks amazing with the attractive design and the all LED headlamps. The front grill consists the MG logo under which the charging port is hidden, the logo area glows while charging and stops glowing when fully charged. The car gets silver coloured roof rails, ORVMs with turn indicators. Talking about ORVMs, the car gets heated ORVMs which helps to clean fog and ice from the Outside Rear View Mirrors. The car gets R17 alloy wheels which look awesome, though MG says that the alloys are inspired by windmills, and represent the idea if clean and green source of energy. The rear end of the car looks good with the big LED tail lamps giving the car a futuristic look. It gets a large boot space of 448 litres. 
The interior looks premium with the soft touch material every where. The driver seat is six way electrically adjustable, the steering wheel is just tilt adjustable not telescopic adjustable. Almost all the controls are within the reach of the driver, no issue there, the seats are nicely padded. Talking about the rear seats, there is no discomfort if 3 peoples are siting, there are no cup holders in the rear seat and there is a missing of blower for the rear passengers.The rear seats lacks a bit of under thigh  support. This car is meant for 3 people sitting in the second row as there is 3 point seat belt provided. 

FEATURES

Although the screen is not big as the HECTOR has, but it gets a decently big 20.32 cm TOUCH SCREEN from which you can access all the vehicle settings, and entertain yourself as it supports ANDROID AUTO AND APPLE CAR PLAY as well as supports Ganna application which comes inbuilt. The car has an embedded SIM card for voice commands and Internet connectivity inside the car.

1.PM 2.5 filter -Its ac unit comes fitted with particulate matter 2.5 filter to provide fresh and healthy air inside the SUV cabin.

2.SKYROOF- MG ZS EV comes with panoramic sunroof similar as HECTOR, which offer extra light and fresh air.

3.KERS 3 LEVEL- It comes with a kinetic energy reverse system, which stores the extra generated power for later when you need it.

4.20.32 CM TOUCH SCREEN- It is equipped with a visually delightful screen that gives you all the information at a single glance and allows you to manage complete vehicle settings with just a touch.

5.AUTO HEADLAMPS- Headlamps turns on automatically in dark place or overcast weathers.

6. 3 DRIVE MODES- MG ZS EV comes with three driving modes – Eco, sports, and normal. Normal mode is best when used in city. Sports mode is absolutely for highways.

7.CRUISE CONTROL- MG ZS EV lets you set a speed limit, and it will handle the throttle accordingly.

8.ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE- It makes sure your SUV is held safely when brakes are suddenly pressed.

9. HEATED ORVM- Heated ORVM’s helps in clearing the fog and ice on your side view mirror

10.INTERNET CAR- Experience the connected mobility with India’s first pure all-electric SUV - MG ZS EV.

11.HILL DESCENT- It prevents rollback on a slope when you release the brake and switch to the accelerator pedal.

SAFETY 

Talking about safety features, The car is equipped with 6- Airbags, ABS, EBD, Hill-hold and hill decent controls. The MG ZS EV has rear parking senors as well as rear parking camera. The MG ZS EV has scored 5 stars in Euro NCAP, but there are no reports from Global NCAP which is followed in India and some other countries. 

CHARGING

Already mentioned above that the car has the battery charging port hidden inside the grill, and we have also mentioned the Breathable Glow Logo. MG will provide a 7.4kW AC home charger, which would be set at the owners HOUSE or OFFICE where ever he wants, this charger will take about 6-7 hours to fully charge the car. Otherwise you will find a 50kw DC fast charger installed in the dealership, which will charge the car from 0- 80 percent within 50 minutes. You will also get a portable charger with you in the car.

COMPARISON

The most prime competitor is the HYUNDAI KONA. Although there are lot of competitors up ahead such as the in house Indian brand TATA has announced the launch of its best car TATA NEXON EV. But currently HYUNDAI KONA is the rival. Comparing it to HYUNDAI KONA which is available in 11 cities where MG ZS EV will also be sold in just 5 cities initially.

CONCLUSION

The MG ZS EV looks nice , is feature loaded and in this generation where pollution is hiking and electric vehicles are launching can stand as a prime rival, yet the prices create a big fact in India ,So the important thing is the price and the range on offer.
The expected price is around  Rs 20 lakhs , If the car land close to this mark then it will be amazing.
