Kia is going to launch it's second car after the unexpected massive success of Kia Seltos. Kia sold an unexpected amount of Seltos last month. The Seltos was sold 4645 units in December 2019. This is a massive achievement for any brand to come and grab attention being new to the population. Although there were many customers who are disappointed by Kia as there car break down or did come with some manufacturing defect. These things occur due to mass no. of cars booked as well as the brand Kia was not prepared for this, due to which many people who booked the cars have got wrong delivery or late in delivery of there car.

Apart neglecting these errors Kia shined as a new car manufacturer in India. Kia is going to launch it's next car which is a luxurious MPV. Kia Carnival will be launched at a price point of approx 30 to 35 lakhs. This MPV will come feature loaded and in three variants as well as in 7,8 and 9 seater. This MPV will be driven by a 2.2L BS6 Diesel Engine and Automatic transmission. The Kia Carnival looks basic in design aspects with the signature Tiger Nose grill up front. The Kia Carnival will be a direct rival or competitor of the TOYOTA INNOVA CRYSTA, .

Engine and Performance

As mentioned above the KIA CARNIVAL will come equipped with a 2.2 Ltrs 4 cylinder BS6 Diesel engine and a 8- Speed Automatic Transmission. This Diesel engine churns out 200 PS of maximum power and 440 Nm of maximum torque. The engine behaves decent in the lower rev range and in higher rev range, while the mid range is where the engine shines. Overall this is a luxurious MPV not a sports or fun to drive car.

Features

The luxurious CARNIVAL is offered in three different variant which respectively get different features. The base variant which is PREMIUM doesn't gets any sunroof, while the middle and top variant PRESTIGE and LIMOUSINE respectively gets 2 sunroof. All the three variants gets a 8 inch HD infotainment system and Dual analog and a small MID.There is 3 zone automatic AC which means you can set temperatures for the driver , Co- driver or front passenger and the rear passengers differently. Apart from these the PREMIUM variant is offered with a 7 seater and a 8 seater arrangement while the PRESTIGE variant is offered with a 7 seater and a 9 seater arrangement, but the top of the line LIMOUSINE variant is offered just with 7 seater VIP arrangement.

CONCLUSION

The KIA CARNIVAL will be directly compete with TOYOTA INNOVA CRYSTA. This time I thing there would be no problems with this car as problems occurred with the Seltos. The reasons are pretty simple as the CARNIVAL lies in the expensive MPV cars so due to this there won't be loads and loads of bookings , secondly the car is not a new product as SELTOS, Yes Seltos was a brand new product from Kia globally, while Kia has sold the CARNIVAL in other place of world.
Talking about the comparison with the INNOVA CRYSTA. The INNOVA CRYSTA is offered in 2.7 Ltrs Petrol and 2.4 Ltrs Diesel with 5- speed manual and optional 6- speed automatic transmission, while the CARNIVAL would be only available in  2.2 Ltrs Diesel engine with just a 8- speed automatic transmission. In dimensions the INNOVA CRYSTA has less length, width, Boot space while it has greater height, ground clearance compared to CARNIVAL. Similarly the features are also less in INNOVA compared to CARNIVAL while the top variant of INNOVA comes at Rs 24.15 lakhs while the expected price of KIA CARNIVAL is from Rs 30 to 35 lakhs ex- showroom Delhi.
