TATA ALTROZ - DETAILED INFORMATION , BETTER THAN MARUTI SUZUKI BALENO ?

TATA is a well known brand in INDIA, It is known as one of the biggest automobile manufactures as it produces all type of vehicles from heavy duty trucks to premium cars.

The recent products of TATA Motors have shown a big improvement in quality of making cars from past.  Recently, launched cars such as TIGOR, TIAGO, NEXON etc have shown how TATA has improved ,but still people go on other choices just because of the service quality which TATA needs to improve.

TATA ALTROZ

TATA ALTROZ was firstly showcased in the AUTO EXPO 2018 as the 45X concept. Then it was showcased in the 89th Geneva International Motor Show. The name ALTROZ is given upon the seabird named ALBATROSS. TATA is thinking about future and has promised an all electric version of ALTROZ known as ALTROZ EV.

The car is the second product from TATA which is designed upon the sport the Impact 2.0 Design Language. This design language provides the car a sporty and athletic stance. The sharp cut lines gives the car a futuristic character. The piano black finish on the ORVM including the A,B and C pillar looks amazing along with the same piano black treatment on the rear, covering the stylish tail lamps. The front comprising of the unique styling with the edgy band contain the headlamps and the grill with the chrome lines. It gets R16 laser cut dual tone alloy wheels. ALTROZ has LASER LOOK which stands for L = Laser cut sharpness, A= Athletic stance, S = sleek profile, E= Energetic presence, R= Refined appearance. The car has unique shaped DLO for more daylight into the cabin, seamless integrated spoilers at the rear. The rear door handles are on the C pillar and it also get amazing black contrasted roof.

ENGINE SPECIFICATION

The TATA ALTROZ uses a BS6 compliant 1.2L Revotron petrol engine , which is a 1199cc, 3- cylinder engine producing a Max power of 86 PS @ 6000 rpm and a Max torque of 113 Nm @ 3300 rpm. This petrol engine is smooth yet screams loud  when accelerated harshly. This engine is awesome but fells a bit under powered.

The Diesel engine which the ALTROZ uses is also a BS6 compliant 1.5 L Turbocharged Revotorq diesel engine, which is a 1497cc, 4-cylinder engine produces a Max power of 90 PS @ 4000 rpm and a Max torque of 200 Nm @ 1250- 3000 rpm. The turbo kicks a bit late but the engine feels much responsive than the petrol one.

FEATURES

The TATA ALTROZ offers all the basic features such as power steering, all power windows, ABS, EBD, Driver and Co- passenger Air Bags, Fog Lamps etc. The interesting thing which I feel is that the doors open straight 90 degrees which makes it easier to enter as well as exit the car. Apart from these the dimensions are as follows, Length is 3990mm, Width is 1755mm and Height is 1523mm. The Wheelbase of the car is 2501mm while the Ground Clarence is 165mm. The boot space is amazingly big as it gets 345L of space, the minimum turning radius of the car is 5m. 

COMPARISON

We all research about cars and bikes when we want to buy one, This research leads us to other options in the segment in which we are looking at. This whole research thing ends up to a car and its rivals or competitors. So, here talking about the competitors TATA ALTROZ has some of the big names in its rival list. The cars which stand out in the way of ALTROZ are MARUTI SUZUKI BALENO, MARUTI SUZUKI SWIFT, HYUNDAI i20, TOYOTA GLANZA.

CONCLUSION

So the final verdict from my side is that the car looks interesting yet the pricing is the key factor , which is still not announced. According to me if the car is offered from 5 lakh onwards than it will be an awesome value for money package, as the car lies in the premium hatchback category. As the car is a direct rival of MARUTI SUZUKI BALENO, so the expected price is also similar which is from ex showroom 5.50 lakhs to 8.50 lakhs.
