KIA motors has finally unveiled its first car to be launched in India. SELTOS is the first car which is being launched by KIA motors in Indian market loaded with exciting features.

For Indian market KIA is a new brand ,So let me give you some brief information of the KIA motors.
KIA motors corporation was founded in 1944. It is the oldest manufacturers of motor vehicles from South Korea. KIA has its headquarters in Seoul, South Korea, But now KIA is a subsidiary brand of Hyundai automotive.

KIA SELTOS

KIA SELTOS is the first offering from the KIA motors in India. KIA SELTOS lies in the segment of SUV. The SELTOS will be directly competing with the Hyundai CRETA , MG HECTOR, Nissan KICKS, Renault DUSTER and CAPTUR, etc. The KIA SELTOS will be a feature packed car as it will come in two different design lines TECH Line and GT- Line. It will also be offered in two petrol engines and a diesel engine.

KIA SELTOS is expected to be priced between 10 to 15 lacks, which is really surprising for this kind of feature loaded compact SUV. As soon as the official price is revealed , I will update you with in this article.

LOOKS AND APPEARANCE

The KIA SELTOS looks really sport and aggressive. According to me it's one of the best looking cars in this segment. The KIA SELTOS has all LED headlamp, tail lamps and parking, turning lights, DRLs, which gives the car a futuristic and as I said aggressive looks. The car is fully based on the SP concept showcased in 2018 Auto Expo.

ENGINE SPECS AND TRANSMISSION

As I mentioned earlier, the car comes with three engine options , two petrol and a diesel engine. So let's firstly see the petrol engines. There are two petrol engines one is 1.5 litres petrol engine which produces power of 115 PS and torque of 144 Nm and will use 6 speed MT or CVT transmission, while the other one is 1.4 litres turbo petrol engine which produces power of 140 PS and torque of 242 Nm and will use a 6 speed MT or 7 speed DCT transmission. The fuel efficiency is around 16 kmpl from both the petrol engines.
The diesel engine engine is 1.5 litres which produces a power of 115 PS and torque of 250 Nm which will be using a 6 speed MT or AT transmission. The fuel efficiency of this engine is from 18 to 21 kmpl.

Features

The car offers a bunches of features such as KIA's UVO technology which helps to use phone to operate ignition, AC controls and more . Along this it also has a 8 inch heads-up display and a 7 inch coloured TFT unit for instrumental console.
The car will be offered with two distinct design lines. TECH Line and GT- Line. The TECH Line will be focused on premium looks and features along with comfort ,while the GT- Line will be much focused on youth with innovative features. Other features such as 8 speaker BOSE sound system, ventilated seats, electric sunroof, 360° camera feed and six airbags.

Conclusion

The car is really excellent at this price point with this amount of features. The newly launched MG HECTOR is a good competitor but it lacks the fun to drive factor which this car offers with the 1.4 litres turbo petrol engine. The KIA SELTOS has all the ingredients to beat the segment conqueror Hyundai CRETA, yet KIA is new brand to us ,and we all know that, no company can win the trust overnight.
According to me the car is worth waiting.
