Hero Xtreme 200S | New bike from Hero Motocorp.

Hello guys welcome back JHRider, in the previous article I wrote about the newly launched Hero Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T. But in this article I will be giving information about the Hero Xtreme 200S which was launched along with the Xpulses.

HERO XTREME 200S

The Xtreme 200S was launched with the Xpulse 200 and 200T. The unique thing about this motorcycle is its designing. As Hero Motocorp has never offered something like this. When this motorcycle was launched, people thought that it is a sports motorcycle as the Hero karizma, But Hero Motocorp finally told that it's not a sports motorcycle instead a city motorcycle for general city rides.

Engine Specifications

The engine used in this motorcycle is the same engine which we see in the Hero Xtreme 200R. This engine is a 199.6 CC, air-cooled, 4 stroke 2 valve single cylinder carburetted engine. This engine produces max power of 18.4 PS at 8000 RPM and max torque of 17.1 Nm at 6500 RPM.
Hero Xtreme 200S gets a 200 cc engine but the performance figures are mostly like 150-160 CC motorcycle in India and that's why we cannot compare with other 200cc motorcycles such as Bajaj Pulsar 200 RS KTM RC 200. So, the prime rival of the Hero Xtreme 200S is this Suzuki Gixxer 150 SF. Although the Hero Xtreme 200S produces slightly more power and torque then Gixxer but still Gixxer is lighter in weight which gives an advantage of power to weight ratio.

Design and Styling

Talking about the design and styling this is one of the most standout designs from Hero. When you see the motorcycle for the first time, the most unique and noticeable thing is the all new full LED headlamp setup. This is one of the most well designed motorcycles compared to previous fully faired motorcycles from Hero. Design consists of several short lines which gives character to this motorcycle.

Features Offered

Talking about features, for the first time Hero has equipped the Xtreme 200S with a fully digital TFT instrumental console with bluetooth connectivity and Google map assistance for turn by turn navigation, which is first in the segment. With ABS as mandatory according to the Indian laws.

Ergonomics

Hero Xtreme 200S gets telescopic suspension at front and monoshock at rear. It gets a fuel capacity of 12.5 litres. It gets 276 mm and 220 mm disc brakes at front and rear respectively with single channel ABS. The Hero Xtreme 200 S weights 149 kg and has a seat height of 795 mm.

Competitions

As I mentioned earlier that being a 200cc motorcycle the performance figures are similar to a 150-160 CC motorcycle so, the prime rivals appears is the Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 and the R15 V3. But as Yamaha R15 V3 is expensive than the Xtreme 200S so there is only one competitor left which is this Suzuki Gixxer SF 150. Suzuki gixxer is not a sports motorcycle and also has a comfortable seating position similar to the Hero Xtreme 200S. Although Gixxer produces slightly less power and torque figures but instead is lighter in weight.

Conclusion

The motorcycle is amazing offering from Hero Motocorp at a price point of Rs 98,500 (ex showroom New Delhi). Apart from that this motorcycle is fully based on the Hero Xtreme 200 R with same chassis, wheels,tail section, brakes. yet look better than its counterpart with a fairing, LED headlamp and feature like Bluetooth enabled instrumental console.
